I was inspired to make these choquettes  that I would buy everyday, at the patisserie, just a few steps away from the flat I was renting while in Paris. Missing them.... I made them when I got back home. They are one of my favorites!

My Time in Paris and Provence

I was blessed to spend an unforgettable month in Paris and 3 days in Provence.

The sights of old historic architecture, the smells of baguettes, croissants and beautiful pastries from the patisseries and boulangerie's that are on almost every corner, the sound of women's hi-heels click clacking as they walked down the streets, sitting on a bench in a park close by my flat, watching children play as I wrote in my journal, listening to the Parisians as they converse in French, a language that sounds like music.Walking everywhere, taking the metro all around this amazing City of Lights,going to the ballet at the Paris Opera House, then 3 Days in Provence,the Mediterranean was breathtaking.

Paris

Bon jour.....I leave for Paris soon......I found the cutest, most charming flat in the 15th  Arrondissement. Close to the Le Cordon Bleu, where I will be taking another pastry class, go to Versailles, take the euro rail to Provence, and eat lots of croissants.What could be better than eating a croissant , sitting on the bank of the Seine. It's another dream come true.....I have been planning this for a little for a year, but planning it in my heart for years.The planning and preparation has been half the fun. I can't believe how quickly the year has gone by.I'm learning French phrases, like " Ou est la station de metro", which means where is the metro station.It's been fun and a challenge , but I'm determined.

Au revoir

I just returned from California, I went to a Launch Your Creativity class. It was held in the most magnificent place called Paris in a Cup. The speakers were amazingly inspiring and being surrounded by the beauty of this Tea Salon felt like being in Paris......  experiencing this has renewed my passion to follow my dream......and to keep my dream close to my heart.....the desire to cater and create beautiful desserts and pastries.To make the presentations beautiful to the eye.... Every dream should be used to bless others.

Laduree ~ Paris

Late one afternoon while walking down a quiet side street in Paris, there was a beautifully dressed french woman, wearing heels, and a long royal velvet purple coat and a scarf elegantly wrapped around her neck, walking toward us. We where getting hungry,so we stopped to ask her if she could tell us of a place to eat, and that's how we found out about Laduree ...I will never forget that moment.She was not only beautiful , but very kind and gracious.

Sitting there in Laduree felt like being in a movie. The window we sat at over looked Champs Elysees....the food was delicious and impeccably plated.
This was truly one of the highlights of our trip. 
The wonderful story of Laduree began in 1862 , when Louis Ernest Laduree first opened a bakery in the very heart of Paris. There was a fire in 1872, and the bakery reopened as a pastry shop, Jules Cheret, a famous painter was given the responsibility of creating the new decor. Jeanne Souchard, Louis Ernest Laduree's wife, came up with the idea of combining two distinct styles:that of the Parisian cafe and the patisserie. With this, one of the very first Parisian tea salons was born.

You must visit Laduree if your ever in Paris....its exquisite!

Bonne Annee ~ Happy New Year!
I am soooo excited to share with you that I have made my reservations to go back to Paris next fall.I can hardly believe it. I'm going to take more pastry classes and visit other parts of France that I wasn't able to see while there in 2010.
So come with me as I plan my travels.....

These flaky, buttery  creations take a bit of time to make.....but the rewards are so worth it...I learned to make them while at the Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. I was blessed to be able go there in 2010. It was unforgettable!!
